How are Allergens related to Bronchial Asthma?

Asthmatic people often have to deal with many physical problems, such as coughing fits, breathing difficulties, heavy breathing, chest pains and so on. When the bronchi in an asthmatic person's lungs are subjected to allergens, they become constricted and flood the tubes with mucus in order to counteract the effect of the allergens. Breathing is made much more difficult as a result of this.

An asthmatic person's body can have adverse reactions toward certain substances called allergens. The allergens cause a severe reaction to take place within the body, causing the respiratory passage to become inflamed and more mucus to be produced.

Thus, in order to treat an asthmatic patient, it is best to find out their what particular allergens can cause a reaction on the patient in question, then take necessary measures to ensure that the allergens do not come in contact with the patient in question. The patient can be subjected to special treatment that makes him/her less sensitive toward the particular allergen. Regular asthmatics make use of personal inhalers and nebulizers in order to restore their bronchial tubes to normal and relieve uneasiness.
