Are there any Natural Asthma Remedies?

Asthma is an incurable chronic disorder. Asthma symptoms are numerous and varied so they can be quite a nuisance when not handled properly. However, there is also several natural ways for keeping asthma on check which can be a quite handy knowledge.

  • Firstly, a person can use yoga as a check for controlling asthma. The steady and controlled breathing in yoga can help relieve the breathing problems that arise due to asthma. 
  • There are people whose fear and anxiety increase during an asthma attack. During these times it is important to learn to inhale more air than usual to relieve this fear.
  • Studies have shown that an intake in the consumption of fruits and vegetables especially apples can reduce the chances of an asthma attack. 
  • Restricting a person’s daily intake of sugar is also a natural way of keeping asthma attacks under control.
  • Although people have used herbs, plants and even vitamin-C for asthma there is no definite proof that these are actually effective remedies for asthma.
  • Bromelain, an extract from pineapples, is also an effective remedy for controlling asthma as it is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties. However, for people who are allergic to pineapples this is not recommended as there are certain side-effects to this particular consumption. 

These are among the natural ways for keeping asthma under check, besides the medications which are widely available today.
