How is obesity related to Asthma? |
It is now well known that obesity and asthma are two features found widely in children nowadays. What is inferred is that children with asthma are not very physically active, that is, they do not engage in strenuous exercise or sports, and thus gain weight. But this has been challenged by recent studies as conducted by the NIEHS-supported research team. The studies have indicated that asthma occurs to obese children much more than others and this rationale is especially higher for boys. Researchers have made significant conclusions in the link between asthmatics and obesity in children. If obesity is truly an asthma trigger than health care providers should also look into finding methods of preventing obesity as well. Solving the root of the problem is obviously a useful strategy of overcoming the widespread incidence of asthma in children. What is of utmost importance is to carry out further researches on how to elaborate on the links between asthma and the factors which trigger its symptoms so that this epidemic can be effectively eradicated in the long-run.
